The Company:
You will be working for one of the UK’s largest utilities companies, this position is based at their Stoke on Trent branch.
The Role:
To ensure the effective operation of the Sewerage Network delivering full compliance with all customer, regulatory and company standards. Proactively focusing on the needs of the customer by delivering a right first time solution using great people within a safe and cost effective environment.
The ideal applicant must be able to:
Proactively manage both the internal and external relationships with all parties, eg COSC, engineering, customers, EA, Customers, Contractors, Highways, Local Councils, CCW, MP`s etc
Leading and promoting a safe working environment, whilst ensuring all quality standards are met.
Support the implementation of change within the department through lean processes
Ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements
Responsible for managing the reactive pollutions, floodings and blockage activities on the sewer network.
The role will involve managing all work or queries within the designated area, either from the contractor, or from customers, including the highway authority and general public. The role will require good communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with contractors
This role will include being part of a field based standby rota which operates 24/7 365 days a year.
The Successful Candidate must have:
Budget awareness, supporting the Area Operations Manager as required.
Proven experience in managing people across a large geographical area effectively
Proven experience of building and developing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders eg customers, EA, Councils etc
Strong IT skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to identify problems and drive solutions
Operational experience in this or similar fields, with a Knowledge of pollution and flooding control methods
Desirable : Sewerage law, waste water hydraulic knowledge
The ability to work under pressure, processing high volume and complex information, whilst seizing the opportunity to add value to the customer at all levels
Proactively diagnosing and solving problems to give a right first time solution and managing all stakeholders effectively
Continuously striving to improve the processes and systems in place to drive productivity and efficiency
Understand and demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders to build and develop long lasting relationships

NRSWA Supervisory Qualification
BTEC in Sewerage
IOSH
