Overview
An excellent opportunity has risen for a Buyer to work within a market leading Aerospace company. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager your main responsibility will be to source an assigned commodity whilst working on new product introductions, meeting cost targets, ensuring production readiness and resolving any commercial and/or programme issues.
This job is commutable from West Midlands, Warwickshire, Staffordshire and Leicestershire.
Responsibilities
• To develop and implement world class sourcing processes with KPI’s.
• To ensure early supplier input making certain that leverage is applied to reach targets and maximise competitive advantage through the life of contracts.
• To be familiar with a range of sourcing activities as you will be purchasing from a range of LCC sources.
• Be responsible for analysing spend and implementing the best sourcing strategies to minimise cost.
• To negotiate contracts and managing strategic supplier relationships.
Experience Required
• To be able to demonstrate an ability to manage sourcing projects covering both strategy creation and implementation.
• Have experience within a manufacturing environment. Experience within the Aerospace industry will be a distinct advantage.
• Proven experience in purchasing commodities and strategic supplier management.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire confidence to all stakeholder groups and effectively manage supplier relations.
• Have the ability to manage complex supply chains.
• Commercial Experience.
• Good understanding of engineering.
