Mechanical Development Engineer

£12 - £16 (experience dependant)

The Role

The Mechanical Development Engineer will be tasked with create innovative mechanical designs using predominantly AutoCAD and occasionally Solidworks and researching market trends to ensure the New Product Development (NPD) is focused on current and future requirements.
The Mechanical Development Engineer shall ensure compliance with relevant legislation, in particular CE machinery directive and that risk assessments are carried out to ensure safety issues have been covered. The successful candidate shall complete production design reviews with relevant technical staff and ensure that the design of components permits efficient, cost effective manufacturer and procurement. Creating parts lists and bill of materials and liaising with customers, suppliers, shop floor and other departments will also be under the remit of the Mechanical Development Engineer.

The Successful Candidate

To be successful in this application candidates will need to be able to demonstrate that they possess the following skills, attributes and experiences:
- HNC/HND in Mechanical Design / Engineering
- Qualification in Computer Aided Design
- Experience in 3D Design Software (ideally SolidWorks)
- Proven experience in a Mechanical Design Environment
- Experience in light/medium engineering, ideally from within a packaging/special purpose machinery design.
- An understanding of Electrical Control Systems
- PDM (Product Data Management) experience.
