Salary
£30,000 - £45,000pa dependent on experience

The Role
The primary role of the PLC Controls Developer will be to contribute to the needs of the business by working as part of a team on designated software development projects, with an emphasis on writing robust, effective PLC code, and developing, maintaining, deploying and supporting high-quality PLC software systems.

The role of the PLC Controls Developer requires the problem solving and code writing skills of traditional software development, along with the ability to understand in detail the operation of a variety of electromechanical systems.

As a member of the team the PLC Controls Developer will have the opportunity to develop new code to add to our standard code libraries, make modifications to existing live systems and work with external equipment suppliers on new types of equipment.

The Successful Candidate

For the role of PLC Controls Developer we are inviting applications from candidates with the following skills and experience:

ESSENTIAL

-1st / 2.1 degree in Engineering / Physics / Maths or Computer Science. Lower degree classifications considered with relevant postgraduate qualifications (MSc, MEng).
-Demonstrable programming and problem solving abilities, preferably in a control systems context.
-An aptitude and enthusiasm for working in with electromechanical systems in real world industrial applications.
-Experience coding, developing and programming Siemens S7 PLC’s

DESIRABLE
-Work or project experience using control systems equipment and concepts.
