Business Development Executive (Field Sales) – B2B New Business | M62 Corridor

Salary: £35000- £45000 Basic + 10% Bonus + Company Car + Benefits

Location: M62 Corridor (Home-based with up to 80% regional travel across the North West & West Yorkshire)

We're partnering with a leading European organisation within the logistics and supply chain sector that is continuing to invest heavily in its UK commercial team.

We're looking for a driven Business Development Executive with genuine hunter mentality to take ownership of a high-potential territory across the M62 Corridor. This is a pure new business role where your success will be measured by your ability to identify opportunities, open doors and win new customers.

This is not an account management position. If you're happiest building long-term relationships with an existing portfolio, this won't be the right fit. If you enjoy the challenge of prospecting, meeting new customers and closing deals, we'd love to hear from you.

The best part? While you'll build your own territory plan, you won't be starting with a blank sheet. Our client has an advanced internal lead generation function that will provide a consistent flow of qualified opportunities alongside your own prospecting activity.

The Opportunity

As a Business Development Executive, you'll manage the full 360° sales process from identifying prospects through to negotiating commercial agreements and securing new business.

Your customer base will be incredibly varied. One day you'll be working with independent SMEs, such as manufacturers or craft breweries, and the next you'll be presenting solutions to major Blue-Chip FMCG organisations.

This is a field-based role with approximately 80% travel across your region, giving you the autonomy to manage your diary while aiming for around 20 face-to-face customer meetings each month.

You'll also have access to industry-leading sales tools including LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM technology and a highly supportive commercial infrastructure.

What We're Looking For

  • A proven track record of achieving targets within a B2B sales environment.
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to closing.

Ideal Background

You'll ideally have experience selling solutions or services within sectors such as:

  • Vehicle rental or leasing
  • Contract logistics
  • Asset hire
  • Supply chain services
  • Business services
  • Service contracts

Alternatively, you'll have experience within pallet pooling, packaging or other fast-moving supply chain environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and win new B2B business across your designated territory.
  • Build and maintain a rolling sales pipeline of approximately £10 million.
  • Achieve an annual sales volume target of approximately 500,000 units.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and successfully close new contracts.
  • Work closely with internal Customer Service and Operations teams to ensure a seamless customer handover following successful implementation.
