A well-established UK engineering manufacturer is hiring a CNC Programmer to support its busy toolroom and production machining operations. Based near Birmingham, the company operates a diverse facility producing press tools and batch parts for industrial applications. This is an ideal opportunity for a CNC machinist or setter/programmer with experience in both toolroom and production environments, looking to broaden their skills in a supportive, hands-on engineering team. The role offers a salary circa of £40,000, 33 days holiday, 12:30 Friday finishes, a company pension scheme, and scope for training and progression into mentoring or supervisory roles.
CNC Programmer responsibilities include –
- Creating and updating CNC programs from 3D models.
- Making spare parts and tooling modifications.
- Supporting production with machining issues.
- Working with toolmakers and apprentices to resolve problems.
- Managing machine schedules and handovers.
- Promoting best practices and quality on the shop floor.
CNC Programmer – skills and experience required –
- Experience within a similar role.
- Confident reading drawings and working from 3D models.
- Understanding of machining tolerances and setups.
- Familiar with jigs, fixtures, and workshop practices.
