A Design Engineer opportunity has become available within a growing manufacturing business supplying high-value engineered products to customers worldwide. Operating from a well-invested site, the company combines modern and traditional manufacturing methods to produce technically advanced solutions across multiple sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to strengthen their engineering team with the addition of a capable Design Engineer.
In return, the business is offering a salary of circa £45,000, flexible working hours, early Friday finish, hybrid working options, staff recognition awards, and genuine long-term development opportunities.
Design Engineer responsibilities include –
- Designing jigs, fixtures and gauges to support manufacturing needs.
- Producing and maintaining 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, BOMs and technical documentation.
- Supporting production teams with tooling, process and material-related engineering issues.
- Driving continuous improvement through tooling enhancements and design standardisation.
- Improving engineering systems and documentation processes to support operational efficiency.
- Working cross-functionally with manufacturing and quality teams to deliver robust solutions.
Design Engineer desirable skills and experience –
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role such as Mechanical Design Engineer or Project Design Engineer.
- Proven design experience within a manufacturing / production environment.
- Strong 3D CAD experience using software such as CATIA or SolidWorks.
- Sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing methods.
- Able to manage multiple projects with strong organisation and attention to detail.
