We are currently recruiting for an experienced Flame Cutter/Profiler in Aston. You will be required to operate flame cutting and profiling equipment to cut steel plates and profiles to precise specifications, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to safety procedures.
Hours of work: 4pm-4am Monday to Wednesday/ 4pm-12amThursday
Pay rate: £15-£16 per hour - Plus £80 per week night shift allowance averaging to £38,480K
Contract: Permanent
As a Flame Cutter, your duties will include:
- Operate flame cutting machines and profiling equipment to cut steel plates according to drawings and work orders.
- Interpret technical drawings and cutting lists accurately.
- Set up and calibrate machinery for optimal performance.
- Inspect materials before and after cutting to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including PPE requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet deadlines and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Record production data and report any issues or defects promptly.
To be successful in the role of Flame Cutter, your duties will include:
- Previous experience operating flame cutting or profiling machines in a steel or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Knowledge of steel grades and material handling.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for machine setup and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of health and safety practices in an industrial setting.
Desirable:
- Experience with CNC flame cutting machines.
- Forklift or overhead crane license.
- Knowledge of plasma cutting processes.
