This is an outstanding opportunity for a General Manager to lead a well-established, fast-growing manufacturing business with a proud heritage, excellent financial stability, and a long-serving, highly committed workforce. Privately owned and with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality products at scale, the company combines a close-knit, family-oriented culture with the ambition and investment mindset of a forward-thinking international group, this is a pivotal leadership role at an exciting point in the company’s evolution.

As General Manager, you will take full day-to-day responsibility for a successful but still-evolving manufacturing site. You will lead a team of around 50 employees (increasing seasonally to ~75) and oversee key functional leaders across, Production, QHSE, Engineering, Warehouse and Continuous Improvement.

With the business expanding into new product ranges to support year-round demand, your focus will be on strengthening foundations, embedding structure, enhancing operational consistency and driving measurable performance improvements across the plant. You will have the autonomy to run the operation, shape its future, and deliver sustainable improvements supported by the owners when needed but without day-to-day interference.

Key Responsibilities for the General Manager include.

  • Provide clarity, tools and systems to support consistent execution.
  • Promote strong cross-functional alignment and collaborative working.
  • Systems, standards & organisational development.
  • Implement structured operating procedures, routines and reporting systems.
  • Embed management systems (ERP, quality, safety, maintenance) to improve visibility and control.
  • Drive data-led decision making and accountability across the site.
  • Efficiency, cost control & performance improvement.
  • Develop and oversee initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste.
  • Analyse performance data to identify key cost drivers and implement improvement actions.
  • Establish and govern KPIs for efficiency, throughput, downtime and cost performance.

The ideal General Manager will be a forward-thinking, hands-on manufacturing leader with experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

If you’re an experienced manufacturing leader looking for a role where you can make a real impact and influence the future of a thriving, expanding operation, we would love to hear from you.
