With continued investment in machinery, technology and ongoing development, an established plastics manufacturing business is looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician to join its team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a business focused on improving equipment reliability, production efficiency and its ongoing growth.

Salary: Up to £48,500| Monday to Friday

Working across injection moulding, blow moulding and extrusion equipment, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance throughout the manufacturing facility. You will play an important role in minimising production downtime, improving machine reliability and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on role suited to a proactive maintenance professional who takes ownership of problems and looks to identify and resolve the root cause of faults.

Key responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician will include:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to machinery breakdowns, minimising production downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults across production machinery and associated equipment.
  • Maintain injection moulding, blow moulding and extrusion machinery, robots, automation and ancillary equipment.
  • Identify recurring faults and implement permanent solutions to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery, working closely with production and setting teams to improve machine availability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, manage critical spare parts and ensure all work meets Health & Safety requirements and housekeeping standards.

To be successful in the Maintenance Technician role, you will ideally have:

  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, including experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Electrical fault-finding experience and an understanding of PLC-controlled machinery.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering and electrical drawings.
  • A proactive, methodical approach, with the ability to work independently and prioritise breakdowns effectively.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on identifying root causes and preventing recurring problems.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established plastics manufacturing business where you can play an important role in improving machinery reliability and production performance, whilst supporting ongoing investment and development.

If you're an experienced Maintenance Technician looking for a new challenge within the plastics manufacturing industry, we'd like to hear from you. Apply now!
