An established manufacturing organisation based in the Midlands are looking for an experienced Materials Planner to join their longstanding team.
Reporting into the Materials Team Leader, you will take on the responsibility of material planning activities using MRP and an ERP system. You will manage a range of suppliers, monitor schedules, lead times and production requirements.
As Materials Planner you will be:
- Manage purchase orders via MRP, aligning with material plans, MOQs, lead times, and production needs
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate risks to protect production and delivery
- Review plans, shortages, and materials to identify and prevent risks
- Analyse forecasts and manage customer schedules with timely updates and communication
- Control stock levels, accuracy, and variances to ensure continuity of supply
- Track overdue purchase orders to maintain on-time delivery
- Support engineering and material changes, premium freight activities, and supplier price variations in line with defined processes
- Maintain key reports, prioritise workload via material schedules and drive KPI performance, providing regular updates and escalation where necessary
As Materials Planner you will need:
- Strong knowledge of working with MRP & ERP systems
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal
- A proactive approach to stock management and cost control
- Experience within a manufacturing background
- Proven problem solving & negotiating skills
- Highly organ ised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
