A well-established precision engineering company specialising in plastic injection moulding is looking for a dedicated Senior Quality Engineer to join its growing team. Supplying technically complex components to industries including medical, electronics, water management, and defence, the company has built a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and reliability.

As the Senior Quality Engineer, you’ll be a key member of the Operations team, leading quality initiatives, ensuring KPIs are achieved, and driving continuous improvement. You’ll oversee a team of Shift Quality Controllers and ensure all products meet customer expectations through effective issue investigation and swift resolution.

Up to £45,000 | 25+8 Days holiday | Health Cash Plan | 37.5 hours per week – flexi hours with a 2pm Friday finish

Key duties of the Senior Quality Engineer:

  • Actively contribute to the Operations Team, supporting quality KPIs and continuous improvement goals.
  • Support NPI and daily production quality, ensuring products meet customer specifications.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Manage the 8D program, driving closure of all open actions.
  • Lead the Quality Controller team, providing hands-on support in controller and basic metrology duties when required.
  • Own quality concerns end-to-end - managing non-conformance, concessions, rework design, and investigations through to customer resolution.

For the role of Senior Quality Engineer, the ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Proven experience in Production Quality Engineering within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ideally plastics.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO standards (9001/13485) with hands-on experience managing QMS and conducting internal audits.
  • Skilled in Six Sigma methodologies, root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Confident in customer liaison, supporting new business introductions and engineering changes from a quality perspective.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings, using metrology equipment, and working with MS Office and MRP systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for quality assurance to make a meaningful impact within a forward-thinking manufacturing business.
